Singing Teacher Training Courses

As you may have read elsewhere on this site, we are passionate about the level of information, training and experience that a Vocal Coach or Singing Teacher should have in order to truly be ready to address the needs of a broad range of clients.

Without this, a teacher is at best going to be offering decent and appropriate tuition to only SOME of their students or at worst, they could be unintentionally harming them!

But where can a sincere teacher who really wants to gain this skill and knowledge, go to learn what they need to know?

Sure, there are colleges and universities out there offering Singing Training diplomas and degrees but to find Singing TEACHER training is so much harder and if you can find it, its often expensive and requires you to be in another country or state.

BAST TitleLogo borderedGareth Henderson is very proud to be one of the handful of highly experienced teachers worldwide who are licenced to teach the "B.A.S.T" (Be A Singing Teacher) training course. It's a simple yet comprehensive introduction to the critical parts of understanding how to teach voice, that expands into a more comprehensive knowledge of the detailed issues.

The course was developed by London-based Vocal Coach, Line Hilton (B.Mus Ed, MSc).ViP logo web

It is recognized by the teacher network, Vocology in Practice (VIP), as a training course to help teachers qualify to become an authorized VIP teacher. Experienced teachers also take this course to refresh their knowledge and to identify areas they want to develop more deeply in their pedagogy and teaching style.

B.A.S.T is for you if you answer “yes” to at least three of these questions:

Are you a singer who has tried your hand at teaching singing only to find that you weren’t sure what to do with your students?
Are you an experienced singing teacher who wants to take your teaching to the next level and become the go-to teacher in your community?
Do you want to know how our embodied instrument really works, and why some students respond best to certain exercises and vowel modifications while others respond best to a completely different approach?
Do you believe that each student has their own way of learning, their unique voice, and their particular goals, and that one of the roles of the teacher is to deliver student-centered learning?
Do you want a great tool box full of the scientifically proven best tools to help your students fully develop and unleash their voices?
Do you want to know your strengths as a teacher and how to use those to become an even better teacher?
Do you want to know how to get students through your studio door and how to achieve your teaching goals?

There are over 20 hours of training delivered in this course, normally delivered over 10 weekly sessions, delivered in our VocalTech Studios, in a small group environment.
